Chantells - Bios
Jack Allensworth, guitar
Great site, Ron!! While I don't play music anymore, I do get in about 100 shows a year (Memphis-New
Orleans-St. Louis). My last big musical venture was Sweet & Sassy-show band. We had six great years of
constant work. Our success was achieved by learning how to be a band, rather than soloists. we did have
outside help-it was priceless, in a word, K.I.S.S.-keep it simple, stupid! Other great memories include the Impassions, the Coachmen, Chantells. Since then I've been in sales - been a hero/been a zero. Nothing comes close to playing in a band. The Chantells were a blast. I do remember playing a gig when the Intriques came on stage-great outfits, dance steps. We played "get ready" to bring them on.

Brief Post-band Bio:
Married Jan in July of 1972, the summer after graduating from Southwest Missouri State with a degree in painting. Taught art at Webster Groves High School for about 10 years, starting in 1972. Taught media classes (video, graphic arts, television production) in the early eighties. Received masters degree in media in ‘84 and began teaching at Webster University. Served as Director of Technology for the Webster Groves School District from 1984-1999, and for the School District of Clayton from 1999-2005. Now retired, sort of -- still teaching at Webster U. Started a family business thecarrs.biz LLC. If you visit the website, you’ll see all of the stuff we’re doing. I’ve been doing alot of painting lately, and have been toying with the idea of getting into music publishing, real estate, and few other things. I figure that now’s the time to do what I want, and what feels good -- wait a minute, I think I just described the 60’s and 70’s. Hope to hear from everybody soon!

Don Fuchs, drums
Originator of the Chantells
Enjoy the site Ron. Part of the problem all of us had was that we were too clean cut. We look like a bunch of guys off the Andy Griffith Show. We needed more tattoos, body piercings and longer hair. That may have helped our careers. However, all the old & famous rockers who survived are now clean and off drugs, are sporting shorter hair and leading fairly conservative lives. I guess they are just catching up with the look we've always had!
I’m still practicing dentistry in Cuba, Mo. I did retire from the National Guard about three years ago. In order to fill that void I obtained my real estate license and am with Gundaker Commercial in St. Louis. I try to practice about an hour a night and still take lessons. I can devote all that time now because my three kids have departed the roost.
I have been with the Pseudo Blues Band for over eight years and really enjoy practicing with Merle and Jim and also "playing out." Check out our web site www.pseudoblues.com and read about the other two guys in the band. They have great bios and also love playing.
A possible way we could produce a reunion is to bring the Pseudo Blues in town and have everybody else jam with us. If everyone (or most) show up, we'll need a stage the size of the one at the Fox!
I'm open to suggestions.
Dr Donnomite (Fuchs)...
